Physical Limitations prompting Request for Help

After yet another night of my wrist pain invading my dreams, I’ve decided I need to stop carding my own wool. I have several hanks of yarn I’ve made from it, and a ton of rolags of various colors for people who want to spin or blend their own. I also have many colors of washed & dyed wool that I will be selling as-is.

But before I totally give up on processing wool from raw fleece, I want to see if I can manage to get a drum carder.

Unfortunately the store has not provided enough money yet to buy one, and I can’t spend money from any other source at this time. Therefore I am going to start a GoFundMe to purchase one. Any donations will be balanced by credit in the store, including free shipping.

Alternately, if someone has a used drum carder they would like to donate, I will give store credit for the value of the carder and the postage to send it to me. I might be able to pay the postage up front, depending on how much it is.

The prices of all the carders I’ve found so far are in the hundreds. I don’t know enough to know what’s best for my needs, but I’ll be doing research on that. Any advice is welcome. I’m assuming that the more money I can raise, the better a carder I can buy, and the longer it will last.

Note: The carder in the image is just one I found online. I don’t know if it’s better or worse than any other
